Love Canadian Film

I grew up with Canadian film. Rather than waiting to see the latest American blockbuster, I recall staying up late at night (much longer than I should have) watching television in my bedroom and waiting for the late-night movies on either CBC or TVO and hoping for a Canadian film. And I was seldom disappointed. I have fond memories of watching many classic (and not so classic) Canadian features and shorts at 1:00am (even though I had to be up for school in only 5 hours). Deciding to attend film school was an easy choice (even though I was discouraged from doing so by my high-school guidance counsellor - "get a real job" she said). It was while in university studying film, and working full time as an Arts Editor for the campus paper, that I felt a desire to do what I could to help give back to the industry that provided me so much inspiration and entertainment for so much of my life. It would take several more years before I started Love Canadian Film - a company which will take new ideas and attempt to help the Canadian film industry find an audience for our great, and not-so-great, films. I am going to devote my life to promoting and supporting the Canadian film industry. We have great potential. We are seen internationally as having a great film program with talented individuals. Now it is time for Canadians to see and hear of this talent in a NEW WAY. Please come along for the ride.
